Enjoy the calm and quiet surroundings during your stay. There’s lots of wildlife and birds to enjoy while sitting on the porch or in the hammocks in the yard and star gazing at night.
We are a short 20-minute drive to downtown and easy access to both I35 and Mopac so getting anywhere is just a short drive. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need to cook meals or explore the many options for dining out nearby.
The property is on one acre and the little house is surrounded by large trees and is secluded from the main house. The little house was built in 2017 and has a dedicated bedroom and bathroom. The kitchen and living room is open and feels very spacious. The house is 480 sq ft and includes everything one would need for a long-term stay. The porch is a great place to enjoy your coffee in the mornings while you watching the deer and birds nearby.
You’ll have access to the back half acre and is shared with lots of wildlife. There’s a large front yard with two hammocks and the porch includes a sitting area. Pets are welcome but need to be supervised and on a leash while outside because the fence isn’t secure around the entire property. There’s ample parking on site and the expansive driveway will accommodate several cars.
The host lives on the property and is available by phone or text for anything the guests might need.
Mary Moore Searight park is within walking distance from the house where you can walk along Slaughter Creek. All the houses in the neighborhood are on at least 1 acre so it feels very secluded especially in the back where the guest house is at. It’s very quiet and you can enjoy the stars at night.
There are many grocery stores, restaurants and bars a short drive away and there is plenty of parking in the main driveway.
We are on a septic system so please, only paper in the toilet and no food or grease in the kitchen sink. All pets should be neutered and are limited to 2 per booking. Guests are responsible for any damages incurred by their pets and aren’t allowed on the furniture or bed.

I was looking for a peaceful place for a personal retreat. Julie has thought about the guest experience and the small touches that make you feel at home. The deer and birds while I drank tea and read on the porch were the added bonus.

This home was perfect for our small family! Our host, Julie, is thoughtful and nice. She made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. My family loved the fun wildlife that surrounded her property! Her kitchen is fully stocked with all the utensils we needed to make all our favorite meals. Her home is clean and the washer and dryer were a plus for a busy family! Very close to I-35 freeway to get to work and all Austin has to offer! We felt safe and right at home in her neighborhood. Her neighbors are great too, we made some new friends in Texas! I would highly recommend this place!

We were in town to visit family and our first night in Austin was less than desirable after a 16 hour drive. Due to unforeseen circumstances we were in need of alternative lodging plans. My daughter found Julie’s place and it was available for our dates. We needed an early check in and thankfully Julie was able to accommodate our request. Walking up the path to her place instantly put our frazzled nerves to rest. It was so peaceful and quiet. Once inside we were thrilled to see the cozy and inviting interior with eye pleasing and happy decor. We thoroughly enjoyed our week long stay! We looked forward every night to get back and relax after long days of family activities. The shower was nice and hot with the perfect pressure from the rain shower head. The bed was nice and comfy. Julie is a down to earth girl and you can tell she has put her heart and soul into providing the best experience and truly cares that you enjoy your time spent at her place. We will be back!

What a perfect little hideout in the city! So many deer and wildlife. I especially loved the bird feeder outside because cardinals came daily. Place was super clean and quiet. She always checked to make sure I was comfortable. Awesome host and furnished well.
