We love to travel! As our family grew, our appreciation for staying in private homes during our vacations grew. Some of our fondest travel memories are group gatherings with friends and family that a hotel can’t easily duplicate.

In 2014, we purchased our dream home in the awesome Bouldin Creek neighborhood in Austin Texas. We quickly learned that given the fabulous home and location we could rent the house for SXSW to help pay the mortgage and fund some great family holidays! We also had the idea that if we were already getting the home ready for SXSW, why not rent it other weekends as well?  So we listed the home for five weekends, including the week of SXSW.  The experience was a huge success and during SXSW the home hosted MTV. Today the home is available to rent and continue to lives on as Austin’s Ultimate Experience. (Our properties). 

In 2022 Rachel and Joe founded SPRKhost and began managing homes for a select group of home owners focusing on large homes with pools in great locations.  As of  May 2024 we host over 12 homes.  Our key differentiator is the synergistic team Rachel’s hospitality and operational expertise gained over the past decade coupled with Joe’s +20 years’ experience in real estate, asset management, analytics, and marketing.
